Master Liu Zhongchun
Prof. Liu Zhongchun, Master of the Beijing Society of Qigong, co-creator of Soaring Crane style, was born in 1935 in Shandong province over the Yellow River in the central-east part of China. He received his first qigong lessons from his private tutor. After high school he was accepted to the Faculty of Slavonics at the University of Beijing, and after graduation he became an academic. From 1960 to 1970 he was chronically ill and attributes his recovery to practicing qigong. After recovering he persisted in practicing qigong and it became one of the most important parts of his life.
In 1980 he co-created the style of Soaring Crane and wrote the first Chinese book about it. He spent all of his spare time promoting and teaching qigong. Since the beginning of the 1980s he has been a member and a master of Beijing Society of Qigong. Since 1994 Prof. Liu Zhongchun has been living in Poland and since retiring has devoted his time to teaching Soaring Crane qigong in Poland. Prof. Liu Zhongchun is also a co-founder and honorary president of the Soaring Crane Qigong Association for Health Promotion.
